FLORIDA - OPEN CARRY NOW LEGAL

Yesterday amidst the calamity, a florida appellate court struck down the Florida law against open carrying of a gun.

My sheriff already released a video stating his deputies will no longer enforce the law. I've heard nothing from my local police department.

Any fellow Floridians plan on exercising this newly established right today?

Ok but Tyrone will think twice when 50% of the men in an establishment are openly carrying. Open carry is an effective deterrent and that's been proven by the 45+ other states that have open carry allowance.

I wouldn't want to open carry generally, but options are nice and this means if you screw up your concealed carry you're still alright. Nice win, Floridaman.

It seems very strange to me that people apparently think they're safer when they don't see guns even though it doesn't actually change whether or not anyone has a gun.

This is mostly nice for when I'm camping/hiking. I don't need to worry about whether it's legal or not and worry about when and where I can carry or brandish firearms. Basically it just makes things easier for me, I don't plan to actually open carry around. Maybe if Ive got an OWB holster on already and I need to go back to a gas station to pick something up I'll just leave it on but idk

It's true. I don't plan on "peacocking" with a gun, but I do plan on carrying my full size in an OWB holster which is significantly more comfortable.
