What is the best J Frame?
J frame owners im deciding on a wheel gun and looking at this one or a 638.

632.
I'll take 6 rounds of 32 H&R magnum over 5 slightly more powerful 38 specials any day of the week. Either one is underpowered, just poking holes. I'll have the extra round.

That's one of the things that makes it the best J frame, it has actual sights instead of a groove.

I almost bought the 640 before the Kimber. Now I see they have a 640 Black, essentially copying the DC. But the Kimber has a sixth round so Im happy.

I have a 642 and it works fine. I don't think J-frames are fun though, it's just easy to conceal. I had a 686 for awhile and it was tons of fun.

Then make a reliable lower profile dot to mount on it, that thing looks retarded and is bulky as hell. May as well carry a full size at that point.

A barrel that short means you are not concerned with accuracy beyond a few feet. Red dot is pointless. Though picrel is clearly a larp.

Thanks for the insights guys.
I went with the 642 pro, no lock
I got my wife the vanilla 642 a coupke weeks ago and fell in love instantly. I just need something to point and shoot close range, this gun isn't for range antics, its for dry firing all day, deep conceal and maybe actually saving your life.

You're a retard, a longer barrel is not more accurate, all things being equal the longer a barrel the more accuracy is negatively affected by barrel harmonics.

The reason you think short barrels are less accurate is because of shorter sight radius, which is not a problem with a red dot.

Apparently the guy lost the sight for 2 years and randomly found it again 2 months ago. Now it's in-progress again with Hamre Forge.

Just stop. Listen to yourself arguing for a dot on a snubbie. I bet you convince yourself of wild bullshit all the time.
Anonymous No.64375469 [Report]
>>64375128
I'm arguing against the idea that a short barrel is somehow inherently inaccurate, a 1.5 inch snubby is mechanically accurate enough to make hits to 100m, the limiting factor is the shooter.

A red dot might enable the shooter to be more accurate if he doesn't have to line up small and shitty sights, but maybe better iron sights would be just as good

Totally worth it. 8 shots of 357. You can throw 38 in also. Plus it's performance center. Crispy trigger and nice finish. I love mine.

I have a 638 with a lock, but I deactivated it. It still looks like normal. I reinstalled all the parts and there is no aftermarket plug, I just had to hit it with the die grinder to flatten the locking mechanism so it will be unlocked in both positions

I have had to use it and it worked

I might switch to a 340 pd, I like the single action option on the 638, but i have become so good with the double action trigger that i dont feel like im any more accurate

That's one of many things I love about the Talo: No Hilary hole and PC.
Also, it has a great, one of a kind grip.
