I'm a poorfag that doesn't and has never owned a 1911. I don't want to pay over a thousand for a 1911 and I don't want kimber slop. For a couple hundred more I'm under the impression the only competetion is entry level springfield/colt. I'd rather use that extra money on ammo.

I don't care about posting pictures of pretty guns on reddit for updoots or larping on /k/ all day about what I own that I never shoot to impress a board full of people that either don't own guns or also don't shoot.

Is this gun reliable? From what I understand they no longer use MIM parts.

Why pay the same price for worse parts, heat treatment, and fitment? Buy a Tisas, throw a $17 Wilson Combat spring set in it from the start, and you're golden. You may need to sand down some Ceracoat on the slide stop release as some people say it caused their slide to lock open prematurely (I've heard of that issue but not experience it myself) but that's it.
I'm literally doing it to another Tisas this evening when my new spring kit arrives in the next hour or so as my $300 A1 Service was so bangin for the money I had to do it again on a slightly more upgraded model while I wait for my new trigger shoe to arrive.

I have been leaning towards the Girsan/EAA 2311 because I like 2011s and I don't feel like spending thousands on a meme gun. Does the Para-Ordinance style guns have any advantages over the 2011 style guns? I like the idea of a big fuck-off hand gun, but something more practical than a Mk.23 or a Deagle. I already own 1911s.

I just spent the morning respringing this Tisas all the way down and threw some grips on. Mainspring tried to sabotage me during reassembly by jumping out of it's tab and the housing got stuck for a bit while I figured out a way to get it off the leaf spring that had jumped off. My fingers hurt. Good times. Tisas internals really aren't bad, especially compared to Colt right now. Just gotta change the springs out. The wood grips this came with were fine, just a little soft for my taste.

This is actually a prime opportunity given OP's requirements and adds no kind of obstacle. Is a Fusion more expensive than the Tisas? Sure. But it's also a higher quality gun that comes with a no bullshit lifetime warranty, and it's US made under a grand.

Look, I'm not going to pay more for lower quality goods, I don't give a fuck if it was assembled by "Americans" (immigrant labor the company is paying less than a true american would make). I'm sick of these boomer run US companies preying on people like you with their hoorah flag waving bullcrap while they shit in their hands and hand it to you for a higher price. I'm not some fan of roachland or mudslimes, but I'm not spending $800+ on something like a modern colt or remington or some other thing like that when $350 buys a gun of equivalent or better quality, I don't throw my money away just because there's a flag on the box filled with foreign MIM parts. Personally I don't know this Fusion company you're currently dickriding, I'd have to look into it, I'm just making a point here. I do not have a Tisas 1911, I don't have a 1911 at all but I'm interested in these lower end pistols to see how much I like the 1911 platform and I've handled them at shows and used one at a range and I was impressed for a $350 gun. If I like 1911s as much as I liked USPs for example I'll probably buy a bunch of different variants like I did with the former, but I'm not going to buy "American" just because it's "American" unless it has a genuine benefit.

If you want a 1911 but dont want the rich American history that comes with it…then you dont really want a 1911. Also, guns are one of the few things you really shouldnt cheap out on. OP, it's a good opportunity to buy a foreign state subsidized 1911. The Turkish government might not always feel like propping up their small arms export market so you might as well take advantage of the savings while they do.
