Its definitely got good bones but I would wait for a sale like you said.
The gunplay is the biggest issue right now with the weapon bloom completely killing your accuracy leading to a lot of frustrating moments where you are on targets but your shots just go around people.
The destruction is another issue with a lot of stuff being indestructible to "preserve" map flow, but it just leads to the destruction feeling very one-note and not something you can really rely on or actually use to its fullest potential. Its really all or nothing when it comes to breaking shit because an RPG can take down just the front of a building or a sledgehammer can do the same in 2 hits. Its kind of ridiculous.
The game is also missing a "gimmick" like previous battlefields. BF4 had levolution, BF1 had the behemoths and BF5 had the buildable defenses. The best map in BF6, Mirak Valley has the closest thing to levolution with a crane in the middle being destructible but that's it.
There's not really anything that interesting that changes up the flow of the game.
Other than that the game has some good stuff going for it, like the vehicles are strong but can still be dealt with easily, and the weapon selection is pretty nice except for maybe the sidearms.
Doesn't really matter that much but the campaign is unbelievably dogshit. Take the shittiest wannabe Tom Clancy military pulp novel you can think of and dial up the dogshit to 11.
