Depends if you want to hot blue, cold blue, or even rust blue it. Each process is different.

thats stainless, while theoretically possible to blue its not happening. bust out the spraypaint.

o shit nigga started talkin about THIS...

You're going to want to dig up some nice pdrf copies of manuals from the 20s to the 50s. I say "pdrf" meaning the searchable one (hang non searchable pdf authors), anyway:

The point is you have to type your metal very specifically and look up the one out of likely 4-5 methods so people don't call you a lazy faggot.

Gun blue nerds are worse than fly fishermen if that is an indication.

Depends on how good you want it to look.
If it isn't stainless you can parkerize it first to give the bake on finish extra adhesion. Prep work involves careful removal of material until it has a near mirror finish and then ruining the mirror finish with sandblasting.
If you aren't clever enough to articulate what you want, you spray the cheapest rattle can labeled "black" on it until it's "black".

You heat it very hot and then quench it in oil.
Anonymous No.64434738 [Report]
>>64434719
And by "very hot" I mean when the metal turns blue (it goes through a rainbow colour change, stop heating it and quench it when it turns blue (290°C to 400°C)).

I think that is long past the "i'm just trolling" point, that's deep in the "it's actually my mental illness but i'll just act like i'm just trolling" territory.
