Get the .32 not the .380. This gun is made from sharp, jagged metal and the .380 is too snappy. You will cut the fatty part of your hand between your thumb and forefinger. I believe boomer call this "slide bite".

this was my experience as well, not very much slide bite but it for sure tried to wiggle it's way out of my hand with every shot. stainless was too slick and the grips didn't provide enough texture to keep it on target.

Whatever you do, do not buy the one in .22 LR. Those are made in the Umarex factory rather than the original Walther factory. Get it in .32 or .380.

Saw a Manurhin PPK/S in .380 for 500 at the LGS and it's been on my mind since. Might go back for it if it's still there.

They're well made. Slides are actually still made by Walther Germany, its just the frames made here. Problems are all old ones inherent to the design like the grips cracking if you tighten the screw too much so don't do that.

I have both, black 32 SD and stainless 380, and the 32 is BY FAR more pleasant shooting. The 32 is also the only one available in the SD model to suppress it which makes it much more fun to shoot. Needs a skinny can to be reasonable to still aim with, I love my ECCO Machine Cheetah on it, and they just recently made an improved v2 that does away with that sloped bit you see on mine.
I carry the 380, and it's not like actively unpleasant to practice with or anything, but the 32 is just so nice. It's my favorite plinker now.

Reliable, stainless is shiny, black is only a bit glossier than any other nitrided black gun, but not shiny like a blued one. If you want the real shiny look, try to get an old German one from when they were still importing them whole. Suppressing those is technically possible and I've seen it done, but it's kind of a whole ordeal where there's like one shop that does it and has a year backlog so do keep that in mind if you want to use a can. But old ones do also have better sights and a smaller beavertail.

I feel like the new stainless steel aren't as shiny as the old ones

Not well enough to not default to Beretta or Bersa. Slide bitey despite the beaver tail to an obnoxious degree, your hand mileage may vary.

It's not a big deal really, in fact I consider it a pro. You can pull the hammer back manually for your first shot and shoot SA, and all subsequent shots will automatically be SA with a much lighter trigger pull. I like the heavy DA trigger for concealed carry. It's like a secondary safety mechanism.

For anyone who owns modern PPK, how many rounds does the pinky extension actually hold? And can you get a full grip on it?

are PPK/s and PPK actually the same weight? Says so on walther wesbtie

They're ok but for one of these you can get a couple of Bersa Thunder's which are also pretty good considering they sell for cheap. Besides getting one of these in .22 is pretty fun for pennies for each shot.

You can sand the sharp parts down. I have a .380 ppk/s, and the trigger guard and slide serrations would cut me. It only took some light sanding to fix it.

it was weird, once it had a light strike it would keep happening until i unloaded it and reoladed it, then i'd get about a mag and a half before it happened again. in total i only put about 100rds through it and it

if every ppk had a 13lb trigger then I probably wouldn't mind it, I have a beretta 84 with a ~11lb trigger and it's fine. it's the prospect of getting a trigger that's any heavier than that. 17lb would really suck even if it's mostly at the start of the pull. I guess I'll just have to try one out in a gun store.

I do too, but the 8lb trigger pull on my D spring beretta 92 is safe enough for me, any more than about 10lb is more than necessary for safety IMO. but again I'll just have to see what it's like in real life, numbers on a screen don't always tell the whole story

ECCO Machine Cheetah Gen 1. Pretty sure the can is exactly the same but with a more slopey neck. I like it a lot, and I like that it comes apart so I can use it for 22 as well and properly clean it after that.

Shame about your first one. So far my only malfunctions have been that I do get some failures to cycle if I'm not using the suppressor while having it all filthy from previously shooting it suppressed without cleaning it, and one failure to fire a round with a PMC cartridge that I suspect was the ammo since it hasn't reoccured with anything else.
Mine is from the first batch of the threaded ones, I think I had the order in within an hour of the first listings going live. So I don't think it was something wrong that they fixed but just a fluke or maybe generally poor QC.

I also just now found out someone makes a flush thread protector for it and I fucking need one.
