Possibly, but the ones who accused him were bullshitting. MJ owned a vast catalog of songs, including much of the beatles discography as well as elvis and springsteen music, and Sony wanted the whole thing instead of the 50% stake he was willing to sell them. It goes without saying with people like Jimmy Saville or Weinstein that if the entertainment industry wants to protect somebody, you never even hear about it, so that fact that MJs character assassination went on so long and so publicly shows it was to pressure him (and later his estate) into selling. None of that means he never touched a kid, but the shit that made the news was weaponized.
