Isn’t a ton of public info but the box ones apparently have a couple layers of plates inside and are probably more focused on typical HEAT type threats. The curved ones came about after EFPs became an issue iirc, meaning they probably are more focused towards kinetic protection. It was announced to deal with tandem charges. I have suspicion it works as claymore mine.It is detonated buy tandem charge precursor and the prodcues fan of fragments that hits main charge, deforms it and reduces its penetration.
Soviets had similar effects during Kontakt trials. There are angles at which main charge of the tandem ATGM is located in a path of ERA flyer plate and that leads to failure of ATGM to penetrate armor.
