Was the 1911 ever supposed to be carried concealed? It seems mighty big and heavy.

>Was the 1911 ever supposed to be carried concealed?
no. it was a military handgun first and foremost.

Carrying a 5 inch 1911 for a huge "maybe" wasn't even being considered back then.
You know what people carried back then, like actually? Mouse guns. 25acp, 32acp at most.

Concealed carry back then meant pocket pistols.

i appendix carry a 5 inch 1911 with a valkyrie bushing compensator attached :D
the trick is to use a minimalist trigger guard holster and tie it to a belt loop with a string ;D

Idk, im a 180/5'10 manlet and ive been 3/4o'clock edcing fullsize 1911s in iwbs for coming up on 20 years, personally i find them very comfortable to carry due to the slim profile, really they're the only kind of hangun i cc in a holster (i pocket carry other things from time to time when it's really hot or im not wearing a belt)

If nogs can conceal dracos and 33rd. extendos, you can manage to conceal a 5" Govt.

Two fatasses projecting. Only lardasses with giant love handles think the grip isn't the hardest part to conceal. Otherwise that's what prints, unless your engorged fat fuck body is flopped over it.

Yep. Not that many years before derringers and pepperboxes were common as fuck too. And before that you had things like flintlock tap-action or muff pistols. Until very recently in history the trend has been to EDC tiny little pocket guns.

Tuck your shirt in behind the holster(you cant because youre fat) and wear a thin jacket. Grips are a literal non factor in ccw if youre not pocket carrying or a fat sack of shit(like you)

Grips are the only factor in CC'ing and you're a turbolard

It was designed with the cavalry in mind, so no.

Holster I made 30 years ago that allowed you to tuck your shirt in. Only the belt loops are exposed.

Carrying a 1911 was pretty common, the only more common piece back in the day would've been a .38 revolver. Not hard to conceal it when you're wearing a jacket.
