>Fun facts: Marx and Engels were both highly critical of Hegel
Which is a fundamental part of the Dialectic. It's why Critical Theory is called critical theory to begin with. You're supposed to religiously criticize and destroy what came before in the religious belief that by doing so, you can achieve a superior synthesis. That's why woke is destroying Western societies.
You criticize that which comes before to create a synthesis through the thesis -> antithesis = synthesis cycle
It's as Hegelian as you can get.
Even so, Marx took what Hegel built and pushed it into the material sphere. He kept Hegel's general constructs and ideas, but simply moved them from the idealistic side Abstract -> Negative = Concrete, into a more materialistic form. But he did in no way discard Hegel's ideology in itself.
>and Mussolini had high praise for Marx.
Well yes, obviously. Mussolini was a socialist. Fascism is a leftist ideology. In Italy it was civic nationalist syndicalism (trade unionism), built off of a philosophy of actual idealism, which was Giovanni Gentile's version of Hegelian ideology. Blatantly leftist.
Peak Hegelians, again.
Basically, Hegel is evil and Hegelians are evil. Many leftists are also evil, but it depends on if they're Hegelians or not.
