A gunstore here has a nickel plated Zastava M88 that has sights machined into the slide on a slightly raised rib almost exactly like some PPKs rather than dovetailed in like usual. It was next to a normal blued one that's pretty much the same other than the finish and sights (and grips, nickel one had grips that extended back to the beavertail like in the image and blued one had the simpler semi-cylindrical 1911-ish grips), both priced at $250. It didn't have the slide safety and the rib was pretty short, not tall or vented like the target one on the right in this image. The ejection port was also much more trapezoidal than normal, like the red outline, although I probably exaggerated the difference a bit.

Is there an M88 variant or some other Zastava model like this? Just some unknown one-off? I tried searching for one like it online and couldn't find anything; I even looked for an M70 like it just in case it was mislabeled or something but no luck. It was definitely not an M57 which they also had in the case.

What the fuck is the matter with S&W and their sights? I had to replace this Bodyguard's firing pin which required taking the rear sight off, and they might as well have fixed sights for as tight as the factory ones are. It got all dinged up, I bent a brass punch, messed up a screwdriver, and eventually had to use a steel bolt to hammer it out (and get it back on). I've heard people say that H&Ks and Sigs had tight sights, but those fell right out in comparison to this, and past experience with a Shield was the same.

The korean daewoo pistol is a neat little thing, I think they may be bringing them back like the K2. Nambu pistols are pretty expensive and kinda shit but you can get em easily off gunbroker or Rock Island Auction company's auctions but the ammos expensive, not aware of any other japanese pistol worth half a ounce of shit. Chinese handguns are where it gets interesting, the norinco tokarevs are good and the 1911s they made are legendary for using "cannon steel" and being incredible for their MSRP, although that legend now makes them pretty expensive.

Trigger is god awful, no extractor, slide is very prone to biting, slide is also pretty tiny and hard to get a hold of, it's also hard to rack, there is the infamous cracking issue that Beretta will absolutely not warranty and will blame you for, also beretta customer service sucks, 32acp is expensive as shit for what it is, but if you MUST have one, get the 22lr chambered 21A or the new 20X. It is much better, quite a bit thinner in the slide, and is actually pretty fun to shoot. I want to sell my Tomcat, but with the 30X being out, nobody wants to buy a 3032.

It's my second favorite pistol out of the 11 I own, I like it so much I bought a second one when the tactical model with the 6 free optics plates, suppressor height sights, extended mags and threaded barrel went on sale for $370. The grips pretty chunky but with the LOK grip panels it fits my hands perfect, and it's shockingly comfy to carry with my ANR holster for it. I'm probably more accurate with it than any other gun I own.

The stock 226 is about twice as expensive now days and the SA trigger is worse than the Arex Zero, but the DA trigger pull on the 226 is much better. The Arex has a $80 trigger kit from Polenar tactical that makes both the DA and SA even better though, so you can get a trigger kit, a set of Lok grips, an ANR holster, and whatever sub $250 red dot you want to put on it for less than the cost of a bone stock sig 226.
