>Iran STILL uses American jets designed in the 60s and built in the 70s
How

Surely 50-year-old American jets can't be better than the modern jets they could buy instead? Where are they even getting repair parts?

I'm willing to bet most of them were inoperable even before Bennyboy's international shoa from unudda mudda (hence why so many of them were grounded and easy targets).

So in addition to shielding Israel from Iranian and Houthi missiles and losing several fighter aircraft and a few hundred missiles in the process, AND the 20 billion annual bonus that we've given them on top of the 4 billion dollar obligatory welfare payout for a first world country (already more US money than any other country in the world gets annually), now we can also have the privilege of spending another 500 million dollars and putting US troops directly in harm's way to clean up our mess. What do we get for this investment? What have we ever gotten? A membership with the endless-pointless-wars-in-desert-shitholes subscription service, with the bonus of more opportunities for Israel to steal our military tech and sell it to China and Russia. Thanks greatest ally! Remember, America first, but Israel firstest

Maybe the F-14 but the F-5 are simple enough that Iran is building copies and the F-4 is fairly robust.

>the modern jets they could buy instead?
What modern jets could they buy instead? The USA was pissed off at them due to the hostage crisis and the Soviets didn't wanna sell to ideological Jihadis either. Post Cold War Russia had less ideological hang-ups, but the windows of opportunity was limited due to the GWOT, the sanctions Iran ate cause of nukes/terrorism. And now Russia can't really afford to export a lot of Fighter Jets or SAMs due to certain happenings.

I think you're also forgetting that unlike the Pakistan, the Iranian Air-Force (entire regular military the Artesh really) are considered little bitch boys compared to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps in terms of funding. So I wouldn't expect the ayatolah to fork over the money needed for Chinese J-10s and AWACS even if that was an option.

And yet it was Israel who sued for peace after failing to both stop their nuclear program or take out the leadership. Weird, it's like Israelis are cowardly bullies that give up as soon as there's any ability of the victim to meaningfully fight back.

Hey dumbfuck, if you deny someone a resource they will eventually learn to get it or make it on their own.

Please tell me how sanctions meant to prevent the DPRK from making missiles and atomic weapons turned out for the world, tell me how that will work out in the long term with Iran.

Please, tell me how making Iran self dependent in weapons technology is a good thing, it has worked out so well with the DPRK after all.

>Please, tell me how making Iran self dependent in weapons technology is a good thing, it has worked out so well with the DPRK after all.
DPRK weapons are still far technologically behind other competitors, generally. This is the point - Iran may not be stopped from getting weapons, but restricted access to modern technologies results in weapons that are worse than yours, which is a win.

My point was that sanctions tend to make hostile nations more self sufficient. I only mentioned Iran in passing.

>DPRK weapons are still far technologically behind other competitors, generally

Yes but they use them in very effective ways, notably being half the artillery and rocket ammunition Russia uses. Bulsae and Koksans still have no Western answer because the UK is dragging it's ass on Brimstones.

The main point that i'm trying to make is that the DPRK has for almost three years been matching NATO and Russia in munitions production numbers. Last year they were beating Russia and NATO combined for a few months and still are. I have no doubt that the DPRK can keep up it's production output of rockets, shells and even ballistic missiles until the last Russian is dead.

My question is why? The DPRK can keep Russia fighting forever with ammo but can Russia pay for it? Why would the DPRK spend more lives for Russia?

I have said it many times and i'll say it again, Russia does not deserve the DPRKs support nor do they deserve Choson lives.

You don't need bleeding edge $50m a pop weapons to inflict massive damage on your enemy, seen Iran raping Israel with MRBMs. The only reason why Iran doesn't have a nuke right now is because they don't want to have one.

Imagine if you will that Japan somewhat routinely blew up DPRK nuclear scientists and put missiles into DPRK MIC facilities with impunity. Imagine Souh Korea and the DPRK fought another war in the mid 80s that resulted in a stalemate again with even worse casualties on the DPRK's side than the last time. Imagine that the DPRK didn't come out of the Korean war with the majority of the industrial base of the peninsula but was entirely dependent on using hardware left over from the Japanese Army. Imagine the DPRK didn't have two super powers bordering it that viewed it as, if not friendly, at least useful and worth covertly helping from time to time but instead was surrounded by countries that viewed it as an antagonist and refused to have anything to do with it. Now throw in insane incompetence in government, and a second army designed only for ensuring the Kim family stays in power that receives more funding than the actual military. Come on man you know the DPRK better than any of us goons, surely you can imagine what it would look like if it were in Iran's shoes.

>self dependent in weapons technology
It's all variations on old soviet shit and always has been. It's not even good variations. The Iranian government continues to exist because nobody wants to clean up the mess it would make if they got toppled by an outside force.

>how's that working out long term
Well if the French could stop being French for five fucking minutes it would be working out a lot better on the nuke front but no, the French just will not stop causing problems.

Iran and the DPRK have always been allies. The DPRK and Iran will always be friends. Unfortunately Iran cannot afford to buy a DPRK atomic weapon at this time. Please check back with us when Russia can afford one on the Kim Jong Un credit plan.*
