trannies, detrannies, and reppers of /lgbt/: have you ever wished to be physically disabled (i.e. becoming an amputee, being wheelchair-bound, blindness/deafness etc.)?

if yes, when & why did these feelings start, and how have they manifested in your life? what about the concept do you find appealing? did the desire subside after transition?

post letters if you wish - i have suspicions

After playing Deus Ex I thought it would be cool to have a few limbs replaced with cybernetics, but the tech isn't really there yet.

yea, probably would replace gender dysphoria with body integrity dysphoria
>you get bid
>you do amputation
>dysphoria goes away
>you are 100% tru-amputee

yeah, probably not here though. there's a pretty substantial cohort of BIID pooners on twitter/ao3

i personally have had an obsession with disability from a v. young age and would always use disabled characters to represent myself. when i was eight i tried to blind myself with a flashlight. trooning helped a little but it made me crazy in other ways so i stopped, and now i'm not really sure what to do

>>40022055
you can't be diagnosed with BIID unless your psych rules out gender dysphoria. literally the same illness

yep when I was young and repressed I was obsessed with being a quadruple amputee and really into violent guro and stuff like that as a teen, then I got older and sort of had to face myself and my gender dysphoria and that all kind of evaporated - I love my intact body now

I think I have a mild form of this in that I get the occasional urge to cut off my right pinkie finger (I'm left handed). This has happened for years but is usually momentary.

when i was like 10 I saw fullmetal alchemist and talked to my dad about how cool it would be to have a prosthetic arm, and he explained to me that actual prosthetics are not as cool as on fullmetal alchemist
aside from that, fuck no

I relate to this a little in that I always related to disabled characters as a kid. I didn't really want to be disabled though, it was more a feeling of "something is wrong with my body" which was mostly gender dysphoria

I don't know, is being female a disability? Do you see females as fundamentally inferior to males?

fuck no i never wanted to be disabled it sucks and im in pain everyday

however strangely i always foresaw that i would be something like this

when i imagined my future when i was younger like especially early 20s i would daydream of being frail and sickly and living in a canopy bed with my beloved and working on music and playing games and cuddling

thats exactly aligned with the life i actually have today; except im way worse crippled than i imagined
