I think about it like this: If someone is attracted to somebody like Buck Angel - then they are attracted to men/masculine traits. If you're a guy and attracted to Buck Angel - then yes, you're gay - regardless of the XX chromosomes, presence of a vagina.
Compare that to someone attracted to a transwoman or even a "femboy" type - if the attraction is to the feminine features/traits then as a guy that would be "straight".
It's all kind of a scale in my opinion.
