We have to pray for JK Rowling and others who despise us and persecute us. Maybe if trans people pray for her, He will help her get better :(

“Father, please look with compassion on your servant Joanne, who is Your beloved child, and made in Your image. Comfort and heal her as she suffers in mind and spirit. Grant her peace and understanding towards us. Help us to overcome the anger in our own hearts toward her. Grant that we may serve Christ in her, and love her as He loves us.

Heavenly Father, you have promised to hear what we ask in the Name of your Son: Accept and fulfill our petitions, we pray, not as we ask in our ignorance, nor as we deserve in our sinfulness, but as you know and love us in your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls into heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy. Amen.”

This is just whatever dumb shit Rome came up with to make more money off of stupid people who couldn't read. Take the Orthodox pill if you want something that's related to the actual word of Christ.

recently, ive been like yearning to go back to church, i haven't gone since i was a teenager, but i keep feeling called to go. i just have a really hard time w the churches views on transition. like i want to be a good catholic but i live in a sin every day that doesn't feel like sin, it feels like the way im supposed to love myself, and that it neccesary for me to transition to learn to accept and love the parts of me that aren't always easy.

i rly want to go but its been so long im sure ive forgotten how to be a good catholic during mass and im not sure what to wear to mass either and i don't want to be rejected. im rly worrried ill either be rejected or have to detrans to attend (which i wont do). i rly can't handle rejection right now :(

Anglicans have apostolic succession, both through their regular lineage (read Saepius Officio and Apostolicae Curae with an open mind) and through co-consecration by Old Catholic bishops.

Is co-consecration really a common thing or more modern (post-Bonn Agreement) thing some priest candidates with a personal connection do? I could not find satisfying answers to it.
I read through Saepius officio, but I can't understand it fully, while I worry to be biased towards wanting it to be correct.

I guess I want a sense of watertightness, putting your faith, that for you has naturally developed, into something the RC that raised you is suddenly void, all your faith means nothing to him, because you misplaced the means, this thought scares me.

I don’t actually know too much about this stuff, I just grew up in the episcopal church…

But have you seen Rome’s arguments for why apostolic succession was broken for Anglicans?

https://christianity.stackexchange.com/questions/62950/why-does-the-catholic-church-deny-anglican-apostolic-succession

They seem pretty specious to me and it sounds like they keep changing the reasons. In the 19th century the pope decided that…Anglicans mean something else by “priest” and “bishop” because they don’t really mean the mass as catholics mean it?

For what it’s worth, I’ve absolutely felt and witnessed the presence of God in the Anglican church. God has rescued me over and over through this church. Idk, I hope that’s worth something

I was raised Catholic. When I was 14 I realized I was attracted to men and after a brief crisis due to being convinced God would smite me for this, I thought about the religion some more and became an atheist. Not that I told my parents about any of that. It wouldn't be another year or two until I realized I wanted to be a girl.

Having matured as a person since then, I feel that sort of hardline rejection of spirituality among queer people is sort of stifling. Like I get that those sort of revisionist churches which repeat over and over that Jesus' only teaching was to love thy neighbor or whatever are kind of shallow, but even outside of organized religion I feel the only acceptable way to express belief in any non-material reality among queer people is ironic /r/atheism satanism/witchcraft. It seems like there's no room for people philosophically engaged with religious modes of thinking because the entire concept has been reduced ideologically to homophobia/transphobia, when really I find it quite easy to imagine a "god" or some karmic force finding our relationships to human social constructs completely irrelevant to our morality. Does anyone else feel like this?

i feel so similarly, ive been "agnostic" for a long time and maybe i still am, im not sure, and maybe faith and uncertainty aren't opposed (thank u conclave). id like to engage religion in some open/nonjudgemental manner that lets me explore that part of me. i do find it really frustrating how hard of a line ppl take on religion, it makes it hard to talk openly about my own spirituality. theres this hon who im kinda proximate to who was screaming at ppl i know bc some art they made involved imagery of a crucifix and she thought christianity to be evil and transphobic and abusive, that it was unacceptable to view it any other way---one of those ppl she screamed happens to be an atheistic trans person too. like idk, i think it can both be true that organized religion has been those things and that its done good too. ig i am just uncomfortable with that kind of unnuanced antagonism thats so prevalent in the queer community

My catholic/excatholic friends I wonder what you think of this graphic novel that just came out. Gay catholic boy has tough conversations with his family and has encounters with queer saints like Joan of Arc and Sergius and Bacchus. I thought it hit a lot of emotional notes right to explain why he WOULDN’T leave the church, why he loves it so much and feels he belongs there
