im so glad you brought this up because i spent most of my 2018-20 on outreach to rightwingers. back then they were beginning to feel persecuted but they were still generally open to hearing out individual trannies about gender dysphoria and were pretty easy to help understand. it changed a bit after due to a bit of a mix of propaganda and persecution complex. there's a reason one of the most common transphobic talking points terminally online cis dudes bring up is us getting people fired for misgendering. not that that actually happens all that often but its a powerful fear, and serves to make us unsympathetic in their eyes
