Idk education looks useless for a hon like me. I can't stand IT or engineering. I'd choose art, but I don't have any skills. I looked for clinical psychology, I'm interested, but it seems expensive if I want to move aboard. And fuck it's a terrible idea, right? A psych tranny? No-no-no, a psychotherapist hon. Everything is so pointless. I just wanna have a good career. How horrible everything will be? What is better for a stupid tranny? Share your experience pls.

Meh. At least I can be an LGBT therapist, and people wouldn't give me weird looks so much. But a nurse or a dentist is too much interaction with normies and discrimination.

archaeology is nice if you're able to source hrt yourself

pros:
>most U.S. jobs are in western states, which are generally chill for trans adults
>archaeology is a branch of anthropology, it's professionals are generally more accepting
>no degree necessary to enter work field, just excavation technician cert(>2 years in most cases)
>can pursue higher degrees while working in lower ranks of discipline(+student benefits)
>can be more rigid(cultural resource management archaeology) or laid back(freelance, shovelbumming)
>digsites can be all over, but in many cases are hours from nearest services(good & bad?)
>can get to work in some truly beautiful places
>career growth opportunities in adjacent fields(gis, drone tech, and lidar)
>the only math requirements are generally statistics

cons:
>terrible, abysmal pay(who gives a hoot about bones n' artifacts?)
>lack of health insurance(most positions are temp/length of dig)
>crm archaeology happens in more populated areas, especially urban(development)
>you'll be disliked by all sides of political spectrum (grave robbing or unnecessary spending)
>small professional community, you will be known by other archaeologists(not most, if any, of the public tho)

OP listen to me you need to make good money early in your career, retire and live free.

Imagine a life where you live passively off the money you saved up and invested.

You literally could do WHATEVER you want because you bought your time back. It can be something as dumb as painting all day or practicing for triathlons.

Whatever you desire, retire early asap

Then find something that can help you get to that goal.

You can retire somewhat decently with a $million if you invest your money correctly.

If you want to travel year round or some other luxury then you would need to get a higher amount.

No idea what salaries are like in germany or wherever you work at.

I am speaking from a US perspective when I say $1million is fine to live an okay life but not really luxury.

I know a guy in Denmark with about half a $million and he feels he can retire comfortably. You may need to do more research on the area you are in

What you want to look at is the median salary. 2.2k to 6k a month is a large variance.

I've only really seen math degrees from top unis in USA go into some kind of coding. Math at a random uni isn't going to get you anything special.

Another thing to add is how likely are you to find jobs in this field and at the salary you believe is starting, mid level and leadership positions.

If you start at 2.2k and leadership positions top out at 6k, you may have a harder time finding a 6k position which makes it more likely you'll end up around 4k mid level.

There can only be so many leaders per company. Plus put into the part if you need additional education, how much debt will you get and how long it will take to pay off?

hiiii im a tranny whos in grad school for psych at the moment and a teacher assistant for a one (1) Dr. **** ****** at uni ver site of ******* I will preface saying im 22 soon 23 and have been trans since 13 and pass 99.9% of the time (other genderfucky people seem to clock me based on height + my interests lol) im not sure how age will affect your results but if you like psych Id reccomend going to college undecided and getting your gen eds done.
Id HIGHLY recommend getting that shit done at community college. If ur poor enough you'll even get money BACK from financial aid so you're paid 1-2k a semester to go to school. Community college is kind of icky and lacks proper support for careers in your major 99% of the time and in psych getting those credentials and experience in is super duper important. Also community college, at least mine left me in a sort of limbo since it sometimes feels like you're stuck not getting anywhere opposed to uni where everyone is really pushing shit in your face.
As for the major itself there are an army of women who don't know what the fuck they're doing with their lives and dive into psych. A lot of them actually manage to find the will to graduate. But a bachelors in this field is useless. If you pursue psych, dont plan- but make it out that grad school is MANDATORY. While youre doing this major youre also gonna need to throw yourself at any lab or research opportunity possible to have some skin in the game too.

The class work is rewarding. Id recommend the books "Thinking fast and slow" and "elementary guide to psychoanalysis" and whatever fields of psych you find intrestng find an author with actual honest to god credentials that doesnt write pop psych and read their work. Read their studies. As for the trans part as a diagnosed aspie and BPDemon It does actually help my brain to understand itself and my emotions. Im focusing on research, So im not clinical but! Theres growing demand for LGBT people- (cont)

-people in clinical. 99.9999% of this field is woke cisssoid women when you filter past the sea of aimless bachelor degree holders who will ask you for your pronouns first thing. just as an example of the type of woke were working with here. I have met one openly trans woman who was a PhD and she did research into conspiracy theories and how phantasms and the like affect peoples brains and she was UBER autistic over graphs and data. She was cool. The people in the clinical field have been super nice and are choc full of theyfabs. Being arround them they are low key transphobic in ways they dont even know they are but theyre just your coworkers and they will never actually do anything to you. Just put in the work and I promise you you'll Come to love this field.

I'm not too sure about my euro counterparts, I've only done a summer program at Cambridge on TERF island.
The first 2 years are your standard math science, English with something like into to psych, maybe a class on illnesses and child development. etc. etc.

As for what to read- It depends on your interest in the field. I Study underserved children. Specifically LGBT kids, So I've been reading all of Judith Butlers catalog.
"Why Zebras Don’t Get Ulcers" & "Brainwashed- the seductive appeal of Neuroscience" are good as well.

The major has many ways to branch out of. As you go down. You might even find yourself enjoying research! I cannot answer if its a solid choice. Thats for you to feel out and see.
