Do people actually transition because they have no success with the opposite sex?

Anecdotally I can't think of anyone that transitioned because of this. All of the people I can think of who transitioned actually had active romantic and sex lives before transitioning.

i have had marginal success with women posttrans because having any amount of confidence is an attractive trait.
its not about transitioning it's about transition bringing mental health benefits that will ultimately make you a more compelling partner. you might not know how truly soul sucking reppers are to be around.

Had sex a couple times before I trooned out, it was pretty underwhelming and I had to dissociate hard or imagine myself in the girls position to even finish. Turned out it wasn't even sex I was craving, I just wanted intimacy.

Well I didn't lol, but I had been one girl's boyfriend and hadn't found it fulfilling. I still didn't transition for incel reasons.

I didn't transition because of it, however if I was loved and appreciated for who I was I am sure I could have dealt with my dysphoria without trooning. I was always super nice to girls and a total simp because I wanted them to like me and to have access to feminine spaces through them, but I was just taken advantage of in the way simps usually are which made me very jaded and hate women.

It was chronic loneliness and being a KHHV that made me decide to finally bite the bullet and just troon out.

Having no success with the opposite sex is probably better for trans people. Having success gives you opportunities to imagine yourself in your partner's position, which just ends up being a shitty way to repress and delays transition. Trannies will always troon out, its just a question of when.
