I don’t have to contend with expectations from authority figures. Not much is expected of me either, after eroding the prospects of my “realized potential”. Perpetually resting alone in bed is more liberating than going out and doing activities or hanging out with others.

When I’m alone I can be honest with myself, and I do not need to act in social jousting. I don’t need to be haunted by the idea of having things to do. No deadlines, no reminders, no schedules. Just tranquility in the room.

you don't need that to have a bright future unless you're strapped for cash. i reach out to my local community, go to events, make friends and see them multiple times at these events. i also volunteer, protest, and help friends where i can. there are other means of having a bright future.
