this is what happened sort of, yeah. it is going to sound awful but it has helped my dad accept me. his sisters transition confused him - i grew up hearing my family make comments about her transition and it was pretty awful lol. i left home and distanced myself from my family at 18 then started reconnecting with him once i was passing. he's honestly way more accepting of me now than pre-trans, he has a very easy time understanding me as his daughter just because he has first hand experience of what a messy transition looks like. really sucks in a lot of ways but this is i suppose one positive about it.

If it's true that youngshits are almost exclusively straight, that kinda supports my personal theory that it's much easier to figure out what your problem is if you like men. The thinking is that, well, if you know you're gay as fuck, you're probably more willing to consider gender shit too (especially since men love women so much I'm sure that helps too).
