I think that's most guys who found trans women attractive. You see all the shit they have to deal with and you realize they more than anyone knows what suffering is, and that makes them seem more trustworthy. Obviously there were the anatomical differences but the idealized trans woman you chased was still obviously a woman despite whatever leftover male traits she was self conscious about. You're self conscious about a lot of things too, finally a woman who understands!

Then you find out what they're like IRL and you understand why DL chasers are a thing and why a lot of men don't want to commit to anything serious and you end up bitter, but you realize no matter how bad you feel, they have it worse, so you can't even be resentful because what do you have to complain about you pussy.
