I feel sympathy and solidarity with her as another trans woman of course, but i also just, do not understand, how she can go out with stubble like that. from the moment i started growing facial hair it made me so viscerally upset i shaved it obsessively. i would shave immediately before leaving the house every single time, i would carry emergency razors with me everywhere in my backpack, in high school i'd ask to use the bathroom in every class and obsessively check my skin in the mirror, dry shaving with the raw razor blade if i felt any bumps at all. the only time in my entire life i didn't shave before being around other people was when i was held against my will in a psych ward, and so i wore a mask all day long and refused to take it off and begged to be allowed to shave every 30 minutes. i'd rather die than be seen with visible stubble.

i realize not everyone is in a situation financially where they can afford laser or electro, but then why not wear a mask? maybe her job prohibits her from wearing one, and id feel really bad for her if that's the case, but then like, why the complete lack of self awareness? how are you taking this photo and posting it with a caption like this??? do you not see it? it's insane to me. i just cannot understand her thought process at all.
