I think sometimes we forget that trans people are still like 1% of the population and even though now everyone knows about trannies (for better or for worse, mostly for worse) a lot of people haven't known a tranny personally. Cis women in particular are obsessed with social acceptability so they often don't know what to do around trannies, regardless of how hecking woke they are. I think it's just a more uncomfortable vibe than people who are straightforward with you

i think a lot of hostility between women, including trannies, boils down to "i feel like i have to pretend to like you and i strongly resent that" which then compels them to gossip, spread rumors, do little things to piss you off etc. essentially getting mad that they're not allowed to say what they want like a child and taking it out on you. goes double if you are the type of person who is just autistically honest and doesn't reciprocate the facade.

Exactly, I think the autist/women divide is probably the most real part of it lol. I've certainly heard stories of autistic women being phased out of friend groups that sound similar to a trans female experience. Maybe bc autism is so prevalent in trannies it kinda exacerbates the whole issue. I'm not autistic but I do prefer people who are straightforward, so typically my friends end up being mostly trannies, some nbs, and some guys. I only have one close friend who's a cis woman, not including my sis and her wife who are my favorite people
