First disruption was men starting to lose interest in having kids (see the "single mother" phenomenon). But it really kicked off in a big way when women in turn started to lose interest in having kids (see the incel seething today), since now it's a mutual walking away from the table.
(also, I'm not saying "no one wants kids". It's more that large enough minorities of the population are disinterested in child rearing, such that it's having wider sociological results. Even 10% of the population can cause major consequences)
That being said, I disagree that it all matters! It's predictable that society would radically change as people stopped wanting kids. But the fact people don't want kids is just, like, a reality we have to live with? Why go around forcing shit on people who don't want it?
We just need to sit and watch how things shake out from all this.
