Fred Sargeant for instance was part of a tendency in the gay movement that wanted it all focused on white gay men's experiences. They wanted to kick black people out then they pushed out drag queens, bisexuals and trans people, some of them even split up lesbians and gays. These people lost back in the 1990s and have been itching for a comeback ever since, even if they have to do it from their retirement home.
It's true a few of them were straight people who wandered into "LGB" groups though, that was always strange.
