>>40228084wow we have extremely similar kinds of hair so i'll just give you my current routine and advice that has worked for me, hope it helps
1. detangle before shampooing with conditioner, i detangle with fingers instead of a brush, but you can skip this if you don't feel like your hair gets matted from shampooing
2. i wash once a week, i'm always rotating through sulfate-free shampoos, but it doesn't seem to matter too much which one specifically. currently using Carol's Daughter Coco Creme shampoo and it looks good.
desu i would recommend a clarifying shampoo with sulfates, fine hair especially tends to get weighed down by build up. i use Suave Daily Clarifying and it's like 2 bucks for a bucket. also if you don't already double cleanse, i would recommend it, or even using a tinge of clarifying shampoo on non-clarifying days. don't be scared of sulfates, even for non-clarifying shampoos
3. Not Your Mother's Curl Talk conditioner. protein heavy conditioners >>>
4. I sometimes use a deep conditioner on clarifying days, i like Rizo's a bunch, but it is a lil pricey
when you put conditioner in your hair, make sure to squish in a TON of water instead of just raking your hands through. like stand underneath the showerhead a little bit, not enough that you're washing away all the conditioner immediately, but to be able to squish in water
post shower:
rake your fingers through it to apply product, this single thing was legit the biggest game changer ever for me. i use to just lightly pat leave in over my hair because i didn't want to "disturb" it but seriously just raking product through and scrunching makes a massive difference. my leave in is Miss Jessie's
invest in a curl cream, would recommend Not Your Mother's as well. do the same raking through. when you rake your fingers through your hair, rake upwards, it helps with volume
i've never had any good experience with gels, it kills ALL my volume. and keeps it perma-wet. use only a TINY bit of mousse and avoid oils
