i medically transitioned as a teen, detransitioned and repressed my dysphoria, then retransitioned as an adult. i can say confidently that anything beyond medical transition is not worth it for some people, sadly. i have never and will never transition socially

and, in fact, repressing the dysphoria is much, much, much, easier if you get good at it and distract yourself well, like i was doing
