Depends on the country I guess. But from what I'm seeing it differs on "western" and "eastern" parts of the world. Where in the west there are more mtf and in the east more ftm. But it's better to check actual studies country by country.
Like where I live (Poland) studies show that there are about 66% ftm to 33% mtf.

because ftms pass significantly easier after t than mtfs after e they never feel outside of spaces. plus ftms and weirdo bi girls always hang out and i often wonder what the point of being ftm is at that point

These studies count in women who dress with a cap and decide they identify as male for a few months. But the people who actually go through with it, get surgeries and all that, are mostly MTF.

I double checked and oh wow, 80% of those people (both mtf and ftm) aren't even on hrt.
There should be studies made on people that are medically transitioning. I don't know, maybe it is somewhere. I'll check next week since this weekend I'm busy

A valid counterpoint, but its also worth considering than men have a lot more risk-seeking behaviour then women so even in a equal "true trans" population I would expect males to be much more engaged in hormones and surgery then women
