Have you ever dated religious people, and if so how did it go? Did they reconcile their beliefs with your relationship, or did it lead to you breaking up? What about their family?
My bf of 3 years recently broke up with me due to his desire to lead a traditional life and I was wondering if it was doomed from the start due to difference in beliefs (I'm an atheist)

I never did and I think I never could. Of course there are people that "believe" in something and can still be in touch with themselves, but for me it's just a huge personal red flag.

Ive only seen this work out well with gay/trans jews (as in still religious jews, just usually non-orthodox), never seen it with a gay/trans christian or muslim.

Not really a red flag, I only find "spiritual" people usually not my vibe.

I'm the Christian one and also the tranny. I also have never managed to actually get into a relationship for various reasons.
