It's just not really a substantial statement. They're criticizing the use of the word "nonbinary," but that doesn't equate to a substantial or meaningful criticism or argument against your desire to be perceived as neither male nor female.

If they want to be pedantic, yes, it puts you in a binary system, but that is to get away from the conventional binary system, so it really doesn't matter. Just because you can be an enbie or not one doesn't change being non-binary or not.
