What is the proposed mechanism that causes this? Why don't all porn addicts (read: the vast majority of moids) get gender dysphoria? Why does it make sense for someone seeking sexual pleasure through transitioning to persist in it years after his libido was nuked by mones?

Dysphoria is vastly overstated by mtf, and it's impact on their lives is exaggerated. The % of mtf that don't masturbate or use their penis to top partners is probably 5% or less.
IOW: lying is an issue with mtf.
