>>40312320That might just be time and change. Its hard on a guys identity and sense of life, self image and purpose to have his family blow up. Its a life plan so it has implications. For his future too. He may be uncertain how to fit you into that or simply be distracted by the worry, or just naturally jaded and re-evaluating everything since a core belief about the future and faith in it sort of blew up. That shakes people.
If you arent there already, you reach a point where you understand parents are not infallible. They arent 'mom' or 'dad', just humans who can fuck up and are every bit as frail as you and your friends, just older. They arent invincible.
I just mean save a little compassion for his situation, and be candid about it, if the relationship is there at all.
And maybe it doesnt improve, but you can try. Sometimes families just fall apart (often actually). And time wears on all of them. Its just part of leaving the nest, especially if its a very small family.
