What is it, what was appealing about it that you decided to pick it? Do you like it?

My names Caroline, i picked it because i wanted something that would make sense in relation to the rest of my family (whos irish).
I also wanted something that was slightly uncommon but not completely unbelievable. I actually really like my name, ive never felt much of a need to change it which i find kinda surprising considering i picked it at the beginning of my transition.

i kinda liked my male birth name, which was an uncommon but normal name. so i looked for a similar name, one that wouldnt be too common in my country but wouldnt feel like a made up name. i ended up with Clara, which was the name i was going stick wiht, but then i heard in a movie the name Chiara, which is basically Clara in italian and well i loved it and so i chose Chiara lol
i have italian family and im southamerican so it's not a weird name for us culturally

caroline by contrast is slightly odd but not out of the realm of possibility.

i didnt hate my male birth name either, i think atp i just find it more funny than anything. Its jsut a very generic white guy name so i find it difficult to take seriously. Thats at least how i try to think about it since family still calls me by it and possibly always will.

>>40312964

My dad picked it. It’s the femme version of my birth name and he used to call me that when i was little cuz I was so effeminate. He even called me it after i told my family i liked boys which they apparently already knew. Anyway when i got my name changed to that he was kind of happy and felt like he helped name me.

when my mom was pregnant with me, my dad (who used to talk in his sleep) had a dream about reading a book about ducks to a little girl named megan. it was between that and samantha, because that was the name they were apparently going to choose if i was born a girl, but that was such a common name in my grade (three girls in my elementary school and another few when i got to middle and high school, including my middle school crush) that it felt too skinwalker-y. i’ll make it my middle name though

Aww, that's sweet OP
This is gonna sound so stupid but, I kept bouncing ideas and after sounding it out loud it felt just right. I was looking for something that sounded soft, but had some firmness to it. Alicia did it for me,
which is funny cus everyone IRL makes Alice in Wonderland jokes. And lowkey, that's another reason why. The dark underside of that is, it was because I heard the author supposedly sexually assaulted the girl he later named the book and character after. And well, I was almost raped as a toddler so yeah

Sweet. Nico is just a cool name

I chose alex at first, because it was much easier to get into as it was neutral. But it was short lived, and I chose Andrew instead, because it was very simple.
I also wanted to try Ben, but I have an uncle with that name. Thomas, but I didn't like thinking of the train.

Thats actually part of why i picked Caroline. Its something that can easily be shortened into a nickname.

Carrie, Carol, i have one friend who calls me care bear which is adorable.

My only regret with my name is that nobody calls me Catherine, the other name i was between that i think is very pretty. They're similar names but not quite the same so one cant really be shortened into the other which sucks.

my name, first and middle, is Michelle Angela. My deadname, was Michael Anthony
my dad spent five days after I was born trying to come up with the perfect name to prevent my mom from naming me Miles (bullet dodged). I didnt want to just waste the effort when choosing my new name
I took the feminized form of Michael to become Michelle, but was unsatisfied with the feminine form of Anthony (literally Anthonie or Antonie), so I kept the same initial and cadence and chose Angela for my middle name
