So many people I bump into irl don't actually care about passing. They want to be around me, and they seem to want to pass on some level, but in practice they aren't willing to do anything difficult. It's so gross, but it's also my fault for being in the same spaces as them.

I don’t have to pass to be content with my transition but still like to try my best. However, I think being a try hard has pushed me into uncanny territory where people are much ruder/angry/violent to me after taking that extra second to clock me. Even people here in passgen have told me to be more visibly trans as the reaction to it is, in theory, a lot less volatile since they’re having the surprise spoiled from further away. I do wonder if there’s any basis to this though/if it’s been actually been followed by any trannies?

Well it can be, an old hippy guy clocked me and told me to love myself which was very sweet. But having someone spin around in the street and yell "tranny" probably could be stopped if I was clocked sooner.
