maybe I'm being a pussy but I'm so fucking scared of going to the gym , the guys there are too intimidating and I'm awkward asf. I'm pre t so results will take longer to see.last time I went my trainer and some homeless guy made fun of me for not doing an exercise correctly.Sometimes I think about quitting and stop embarrassing myself but I really want to get into good shape. any advice that doesn't involve using steroids? I was considering drinking a bit before showing up just to take the edge off and relieve some of the (social) anxiety but I'm already uncoordinated so it's probably not the best idea.

Ngl you’re definitely being a pussy and need to nut up expeditiously but if you’re having trouble executing certain motions and are set on using some sort of substance, weed might unironically help you conceptualize mind/muscle connection better. Don’t be afraid to use lighter weights until you can get your form dialed in and get the hang of how muscle groups are supposed to feel under tension. A lot of people in the gym are gonna be self conscious retards, but you can find homies there too. Don’t let the brainworms get to you, you’re on here so god knows you have enough of them already

I go to planet fitness and no one has said anything to me. No one cares, they are focused on their own thing. If anything you could do calisthenics in your own house idk

You literally do not need to go to the gym starting out. Just do bodyweight exercises, then you can invest in some adjustable dumbbells and after that a bench if need be. This'll be enough to make significant progress.

Dont do any drugs before workout. If you are serious about getting jacked you shouldnt be drinking ever.
If you have really bad anxiety just buy adjustable dumbells watch someone like Jeff Nippard and work out from home.
Also I dont understand why you as a FTM dont want to blast steroids.

Not sure where you are located, but in the gyms I have frequented, almost any man who looks like he knows what he is doing will help you kindly if you ask. But you must ask, otherwise they will just mind their own business. Remember, some women freak out if a man even looks at them in the gym, so men are very cautious about approaching girls. So you need to ask. Then you will have friends and nobody will bother you.

If a trainer makes fun of you, report him. He should be terminated. Seriously.

nah, don’t drink. that’s just gonna make you lift like a drunk toddler and feel worse. listen: everyone sucks at the gym at first, everyone. the loud dudes? half of them got trash form anyway. you showing up makes you braver than 99% of the people talking shit. next time just fix the form, keep your head down, headphones in, treat them like background NPCs. if they laugh, let ‘em you’ll outlift ‘em in a year. keep showing up. that’s it. no roids needed, just stubbornness.

also use exrx for certain exercises, they have videos of form and tips.
