It annoys me a lot because I am someone content with my dysphoria who doesn't pass, and while I'm happy about the progress surrounding that it's something cis people do not give two shits about. My social transition remains an absolute nightmare 3+ years in and it's at the point now where other trans people just shrug when I ask what to do about it. It bugs me a lot when it's (almost always) these comfortably passing/close-to-passing-with-effort trans women saying this because they don't at all experience the side of transitioning where passing unfortunately does really matter. It makes the message fall completely flat which is a real shame because I agree with the heart of it.

At once very simple and absolutely impossible, because the only way to achieve this is for trans women to abandon the idea that they really are women in some meaningful sense.

If trannies subculturally give up on trying to not be seen as men and agree that it's fine if they are, passing will cease to matter. However, we both know that will never happen.

Humans like and favor things and people that are beautiful. No one likes fat and ugly people either, there isn’t really any deeper or meaningful reason.
