Why take on a trans patient as a therapist if you are going to treat them like they are potentially chris Chan. My mom recommended this therapist I go to see her and although she didn't say anything super rude outrightthe whole vibe was like idk. Just very off-putting and made me feel like a freak. I considered suicide after but did drugs(weed) instead. I miss the student worker who'd call me every week to check on me and just talk to me. He was nice and didn't make grand assumptions. understandably stopped doing it when it was no longer required of him for his student work study thing.

Queer therapist here. I recommend looking at psychology today to find a therapist who serves trans people explicitly. If they don’t have that as a focus on their PT page, chances are good that you will experience subtle, invalidating, judgmental views from your therapist. Don’t waste any more time or energy with this therapist, if they can’t build rapport with you in the first session then they simply aren’t a good fit.
