Help me build a good trans character for my visual novel plz

I'm making a romance visual novel about a tgirl working in a doggy-girl shelter and romancing one of the 5 doggies
I want her to be an ex-NEET transbian who only lives for doggy-girls and hates other people. she's forced to get a job by her parents which is why she found work in the shelter. She cares very deeply about these critters and would throw her life away for them

It's shallow reasoning but I want to make her character respectful, im a foid so I can't truly articulate the trans experience

Should her transness be kept subtle or should I make it a big part of her character?
If you were in a situation where you can romance abandoned doggy girls, what would you do? How would you treat them? How do real life dogs make you feel? How would I be able to incorporate her being trans into the story?
Any story writing tips would help greatly

Honestly as a trans girl I’m kinda sick of seeing blatant trans women in media. That gay-ish accent, hon-build, those trans bracelets and stuff. I honestly would really enjoy a normal/average looking women who just happens to be trans. Not completely ashamed of it per say, but just something not comfortable shouting to the rooftops like most trans in media.

I guess it ties into the first question of ‘should her transnes be subtle?’. Meaning I don’t think it should be brought up to much. But an idea would be the reason for her being a neet is because she’s scared of what people would think of her if they knew she was trans/finds it hard trying to make friends being trans.

Please dear god make a 6ft dog girl. I would but this game if it was $100 it sounds so cool
