It won't happen all of the sudden, its effects will increase over decades and centuries depending on what the worlds CO2 emissions are like. Imo the most sensible thing to do is to place a dollar value on every extra ton of CO2 entering the atmosphere so we can evaluate if any given use of fossil fuels is worthwhile.

Hint hint: Most fossil fuels are used for something stupid reasonably easy to replace with an alternative, but there is still a lot of shit only oil and gas can do.

It's really not. If you want an accurate assessment of the damages caused by climate change, I would peg it at 2 to 4 dollars per gallon of gasoline burned. If you want to evaluate if a use of gasoline is worthwhile, add to 2 to 4 dollars of it and see if the electric option still looks uneconomic.

climate change will be bad but it wont exterminate the human race. i aquate it to what happened in europe during the plague. it will wreck alot of things, lots will die, but it will eventually turn into a societal reset and we will emerge better out of it. after a few hundred years of turmoil.

Don't get me wrong there is plenty to doom over about climate change, but its something that will play out over a very long time. The trans stuff (and any social issue for that matter) operate on much shorter timeframes. A power plant ordered right now won't even get built until whoever the fuck comes after trump is in office.

I think the public will come to accept trannies the same way they are mostly O.K with gays now that they see we aren't a bunch of pedos
