it's depressing to be a zoomer
been looking into scene and rave culture all over again, as well as other early 2000s subcultures.

Back when I become 14 and through adulthood, cringe culture became a thing, adding further shame and repression that kept me held down + I was raised in an isolating controlling shitfest environment.

Now I am 24 and I see younger zoomers get to live out the subcultures I wanted to live out, I feel old as fuck.

Why is there always a "fuck you" generation? The generation that gets to deal with the brunt of all social and economic issues ever since childhood. Sorta like the silent generation compared to the baby boomer, the silent generation missed out on everything the average baby boomer got to enjoy.

Older zoomers are so cucked, everything is either catered to 30yr+ old millennials or 15-19yr old zoomers.

Being at this awkward age makes me realize why a lot of pedos in these subcultures were 22-27. You are basically forced to befriend with people way younger or way older.

Victim mentality. You decided your own pain.

No one is coming to save you.

Its disheartening at first but overtime it makes you feel like your in control.

You control your own happiness and your own sadness.

otherwise EDM was pretty big, the whole e-boy/gril stuff was also from that time, at least for my country techno was decently popular while not being mainstream. there are a bunch of other shit i probably forgot or that just happened in a specific country/region

all subcultures are now mainstream because of the internet, nothing is underground.

seeing trans culture rise up made me feel like the universe was watching my thoughts

older zoomers culture wasting their life being fake (real) depressed. I also wish i didnt waste my youth at my ripe old age of 27

Estrogen reverses your age, right?

I was 5 in 2003, playing Runescape at my friends house. His mom comes home and he tells her "Mom, I want to be emo!!" I cannot express how jealous I was that he felt comfortable asking his mom that. I still feel jealous that he felt so open as a child. He grew out his hair because he was a skater and I grew mine out to copy him, and I've never cut it since. I think hes a roofer now.

i feel like the main driver behind nostalgia aren't the people who were teenagers at the time wanting to reexperience that time again but rather people like (You) who were kids at that time and feel like they missed out on something. Of course you'll also have a bunch of underage kids too but thats always the case
