What's your ancestors' language? Also it's just parsing a bunch of verbs so not really "learning" anything new

Cause it's really interesting and makes a nice complement with Latin (the other language I'm really interested in). Also there's a lot of good stuff written in Greek.

an endangered native american language. won't specify because i'm the only tranny of these peoples so basically it would be a dox. I guess "grinding" for language like you are is a amenable with being litty. If you're just practicing shit, maybe you'll retain some shit you know. But in my mind, when i'm litty why would i bother with learning shit, even if my friends ignore me, shit find new friends to annoy.

What are you like one of those straussians obsessed with picking apart the arguments in the memorabilia or something? Or is this just a bogstandard "easy author" recc like Caesar or Nepos?
>>40427175
Uhhhhh there isn't really an equivalent at all, probably running through a graded reader like Athenaze or A Greek Boy at Home or whatever example sentences are in the textbook.

Uhm, kinda both honestly, although I don't attach much worth to Strauss--and significantly less to "straussians." Xenophon is just interesting to read--even, yes, to be autistic. It's just NICE when people read things YOU READ ;_;

In a month or so I'll make a thread and maybe you'll see it! Just gotta remember,,,,,
Also I dunno if I agree with your take on Strauss insofar as I actually liked his take on the TTP in Persecution and the Art of Writing. But maybe that's just me.

Strauss is in the same category as someone like Harold Bloom for me, where their analyses are deep, erudite, and disclose a type of method which yields interesting considerations, but also where it feels damaging to become their disciple in name. It might just be exhaustion from prolonged exposure to the tertiary legions of academic writers (or less charitably the pretension that if I should say anything, it should be mine to say). Either way I am comparatively retarded so my opinions have no weight. But definitely post your thoughts eventually :)

For sure. Strauss' disciples feel more like an academic protection network than anything.
