The LG have been watching the BT show their butthole at pride events for a while now, but I will say the Paris Olympics were catastrophic optics for queer people broadly. Like watching a child douse themselves in gasoline then jump in a campfire.

Western culture had a 12 year period where all social standing came from a willingness to publicly voice support for progressively more fringe and niche “social minorities”. It was an arms race, where anyone who could find and identify an even more absurd and grotesque clique and shout “i not only accept these freaks, i see them as completely normal” won. I cant recall a more annoying social phenomenon in history.

Italians and spanish were always legally white. Mexicans were not.

The reason the Olympics were made to be so over the top and so flagrantly pro-LGBT is due to vanguardism, they want to be the ones to push the boundaries of sexual permittivity by being out in front of everyone else in terms of sexual permissivity.

That might work in western countries but the reaction outside of them was revulsion and horror. I suspect it was a net negative for lgbt people broadly from the backlash to it.
