Having used grindr, they have had my face pics and my rough address, but I live in an apt building. They don't have my name because I don't use my real name on grindr.
So if some database got leaked, nobody could search the leak for my first name, let alone my first name and last name, and then get my grindr profile that says exactly what I'm looking for sexually.

Real life isnt CSI, the police cant just hammer keys into a computer and pull up everything about you, there are data protection law that barricade information.

If the police want to know what you are doing on grindr, they'd need a warrant, a reason to have a warrant, and request that data from organisations, who have the right to deny that information, if they even have it.

The new system is directly linking your ID to your activity, it removes all privacy and makes everyone vulnerable to malicious actors, government or otherwise. It should be resisted by any sensible person
