Nona men are people too. Just like women they sometimes don’t feel like having sex. It could be because of the toothache, it could be because of something deeper he’s not telling you, or it could simply be that he just doesn’t feel like it in the same way that you don’t feel like having x y or z.
You should trust him enough to be able to take what he says at face value most of the time.

People are willing to get their wisdom teeth yanked out, which is a miserable procedure that can last hours and then leave you in pain and your mouth a bloody mess for a weekend, just to avoid toothaches.

Yes. Imagine something like a broken bone, but inside your skull and throbbing with pain every time your heart beats or anything on your head moves (including breathing). They're one of the worst aches a person can have.
