Why is everything in america so gay now

I think it's always been less of a "there's more gays" thig and more of a "gays are louder, sappier, and more unashamedly close-minded than ever." thing. ESPECIALLY when social media is involved, which can inflate what would've been a simple private conversation into thousands of people wasting time bickering over text.
