i will never fall for the food delivery meme, its more expensive than cooking, i cant make sure the food is prepared cleanly, and theres a chance my food just gets stolen by the driver
making it myself i can make it just how i want it, for cheaper, i can make sure its as fresh as can be, and i have a dishwasher so washing the dishes is a non issue
also if you make a stew or soup as a low effort meal the cooking is only like 15 minutes of actual work and the rest is just letting it cook for an hour or two while you do other stuff

There are so many meals you can cook that require minimal time and leave little mess that also make multiple days worth of meals. Anything you do in a slow cooker is generally like that.

I think I would pierce the tip end of the knife into the carrot wedging it on the board and then go push the rest of it down? but really if she's making just half-slices, you can't do that with a carrot like you can with a cucumber, you wanna cut it into smaller pieces first then halve those and then put those into pieces. I'm an OK cook but I'm also very scared of fucking anything up so I always kinda overthink these things.

Cut along the length with a tip of your knife. You don't try to chop it in halves with a full length of a knife. If the carrot is too thick or hard, align the tip of the knife with the tip of the carrot, then press the knife down, you won't be able to cut through the entire carrot this way at once, but you'll get the cut started, then move the tip inside the cut, and press the knife down again, and do it as many times as needed.

i cook two huge pots of food every 2 weeks or so, then i portion and freeze them. doing two one after another cuts down on preparing ingredients and washing dishes. it doesn't take me more than 3 hours from start to finish. then i have a nice homecooked meal every day, and i have a lot of variety along with random older leftover meals, i can just take whatever i feel like eating out of the freezer for the next day. in the morning i'll just make something very quick like a sandwich or toast with jam and in the evening also something very easy, like rice or airfried fries with frozen fish or nuggets, or a frozen pizza. why aren't you freezermaxxing anons?
