Should I go for informed consent or DIY. I live in southern California, how are the doctors here?

both. but back off your diy 2 weeks before your blood tests.
get the legal prescriptions and diy.
this way you get a bunch of free hrt and while your doing /diy/ you can stack estradiol vials.
bump those levels above 200+ but drop them back down for your labs or they'll cut you off.

Do the doctors not prescribe enough?

they do if you push them about it. they'll over prescribe and give you things that will push your levels above their wpath thing.
but they probably dont understand the stuff.
you'll probably have a better idea of how this shit works within your 1st year on it than the doctors ever will.
its pretty crazy.

ask for anti androgens, progesterones, dht blockers, etc and injections.

and if you go in there and get labs done your 1st time and you're already castrated and have good estrogen levels, they'll give you like 10mg injections every week np. which is really plenty.

but you really should get EEN its just a waaay better and smoother formula than EV and it lasts longer and more stable levels (less mood swings and bullshit

there is also the possibility they'll fuck you up and give you like 200+mg spiro and 2-4mg oral e. lmao.
get used to injecting yourself. you'll get better results.

the 1st year or 2 is chaotic, so good luck. and be ready for some weird changes.

Ok that's good, hopefully mine is willing to learn then I have been doing a lot of reading on this. I don't want to freak my dad out too much so I am doing this the "right" way and I need the health insurance money to cover blood testing. Poor guy has no idea what is going on, but he tries to be nice about it and is obviously more scared than I am.

it is good, because having prescriptions for hrt, injections, needles, syringes etc. is huge and gives you legit/legal protection and the health insurance will see that you are transitioning and they will open up more options for you in the future like lessons, and surgeries and getting you navigated into whatever the best clinic or hospital is in california, etc.

its just nice to have the official paper trail on insurance for the other things.

but i still highly recommend getting some EEN vials . theyre really cheap in comparison to other hrt things online. and its just so much more stable than ev injections.

ev spikes so fast and drops so fast..
its basically pms symptoms 2x a week.

and een is so slow and gradual and stable, if you time your injections right, its just smoooooooth and no bullshit.

if you feel mental on hrt, its your levels moving around.

i get a feeling of doom when my levels drop.

From what I have heard I will explicitly ask the doctor for injections. What you are saying is I should buy some vials and keep them in a safe, in case the pharmacy fucks up and I can't refill on time?

Do whatever these anons tell you to do, but also stockpile EEn raws if you're nervous about the accessibility of HRT in the future.
