I hear sometimes, for androphilic trans women (like obvious ones, ones who were flamers before transitioning), that your friends and family asked why you couldn't just be gay instead of being trans when you came out as trans.
Now, I know gender dysphoria is real and can't be tamed without hormones, but just hypothetically, if somehoe you could have just been gay, do you think the people who told you to be gay instead of trans actually would have fully accepted you as gay if you hadn't become trans at that point?

My dad knew i was gay and was chill about it, now he is wondering why I wanna be a tranny because I was always masculine and now I am wondering the same thing, but he is somewhat accepting of the idea.

The people who call us "just gay men" usually don't like gays either in my experience, they just bring it up to make trannies feel like shit.

I found trannies on the internet and liked their stuff, but I was very good at not thinking of myself as one despite literally having to manually put myself in a male body when imagining myself doing stuff (I was like 14-15). Later, I tried crossdressing to put on a show for the boyfriend and innocently wandered back into tranny spaces looking for advice to look better and I kinda lost my shit.

Absolutely not lmao. My parents only started being ok with me being gay when I told them I was a tranny because being gay was less bad

So if you had actually gone gay at that point, they wouldn't have truly been ok with you dating other men?

no, they wouldn't, they were already mad at me for having long hair during school like a "faggot" (yes, that was actually the reason they gave). i doubt they'd let me have it if i didn't have hearing aids to hide behind long hair.

I wonder if the genes that cause homosexuality may actually (sometimes) also cause other proximate issues in sensory regulation - that is sleep, hearing, speech, or seeing disturbances.

Oh I love that one. Do they make mock and get angry with you for 'talking like a faggot' too?
