I just can’t figure out how to dress in a way that actually looks good on my body. My torso is long, my shoulders are broad compared to my hips, my ribcage flares out weirdly, and my chest just reads as slightly fatty pecs instead of boobs. And no, I’m not fucking worming, picrel is just super simplified and leaves out lots of details you see irl (especially the shoulder width).
Everything I try ends up looking boxy and cheap. For bottoms, high-waisted and baggy is the only thing that works to make my waist and hips look better. Tops are a total nightmare. Off-shoulder, peplum cuts, literally everything desu looks wrongish in some way (usually because of my shoulders or straight torso). Oversized sweaters and layering just make me look like a rectangle.
I’m actually so lost. I feel like nothing works and I really need advice.

I am a very manbody mtf and my go to is high waisted baggy jeans which I kinda like and either a tucked in tank top or crop top mens tshirt. It's more of a butch look but that's alright with me

That’s usually what I end up doing too and it works okay, but ya it is more of a butch look which isn’t what I’m going for. I wish I could make an indie grunge sort of aesthetic work but :(

looks somewhat workable at least from the front, main issues are WHR (28 inch waist is good but you could do with adding a couple of inches to your hip/butt circ) and breasts being small but your shoulder to hip width ratio isn't so bad. i think you'd be considered rectangle-shaped so look into fashion tips for that body type. i'll let other people with a more similar shape to you advise but i think that yes, you probably don't want to add too much bulk to your upper body. i'd consider tighter tops and pants that have a wider leg but aren't totally shapeless either. i also would consider wearing padded bras icl, i know it sounds a bit cringe but your bust is *really* small compared to your shoulders (and i mean this in the nicest way possible but like you're not even a A cup in classic sizing, the average woman with your shoulder width is probably a 34B or 34C at least) and it's probably a big part of the reason you feel women's tops don't fit very well. i have a similar issue for the record and it's part of why i'm getting BA later this year but for now i get by with this technique.

Thanks, this is actually really helpful :) I thought I was an inverted triangle, but I might actually be a rectangle. Idk if that’s much better desu but oh well
You might be right about the zero bust thing. I do wear padded bras every now and then and I think they do make all sorts of outfits work a lot better, but I just wish I could make that happen with my actual body :/
I guess I just need to start eating more and praying that it helps with my chest and hips
