Godfather 2
Well.. wow, this was a good film. I found it more interesting and captivating than the first one, but the cinematography was a tad worse i think.
What was really compelling about this movie was actually the last 5 minutes. It explains a lot about micheal. Because during the whole movie im wondering why is this guy such a psychopathic killer unlike his wonderful father.
And then u see in the final 5 minutes, even before vito died, At the table with his "family" micheal had a dead inside stare, he is there but he isnt really. Micheal has always been alone.
something has always been off about this guy and its even hinted at during the first movie when micheal effortlessly cheats on kay with 0 guilt, and even lies to her at the very end during a moment when any soulful person should just not lie..and also in the second movie when Kay says "something is wrong with our son" (likely referring to the sane inhuman/alien/unsocial/inability to connect that micheal also has)
micheal bursts out at this because his son is just like him and he thinks there is nothing to be ashamed off.
Whats really interesting abkut these last 5 minutes though is that is very subtly suggests that micheal was planning to take over the family from the very first minute of the first film.
Something is just off about him. I think he is a true psychopath with no redeeming qualities, unlike his father who was based and went easy on people.
What was also good about this movie was the acting. Im still not entirely sure who double crossed who. I just know roth is guilty. But it was fun not knowing
9.1 /10 film
